Royce Smithey is a singer/songwriter, plays guitar, bass and mandolin. Born and raised in Fannin County Texas, Royce spent time during his youth working with horses and cattle. A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Royce has been a Criminal Investigator for over 30 years and has twice been awarded Investigator of the Year in Texas.
Royce’s enthusiasm for music began at an early age. He has played country, country rock, bluegrass, cowboy and gospel music, on stage and as a studio musician. Royce has entertained audiences at schools, churches, museums, cowboy gatherings, rodeos, and private events in Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming. He has performed at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri; Gene Autry Days in Gene Autry, Oklahoma; the State Fair of Texas; the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering; Fort Worth Stock Show; Western Music Association in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the National Cowboy Symposium in Lubbock, Texas. Royce maintains a strong passion for Cowboy and Christian music and leads praise and worship in Cowboy Churches. He considers it a blessing to be able to serve God with his music. Royce is a member of the The Cowtown Opry, Missouri Cowboy Poets Association, and the Western Music Association. Did we mention one heck of a guitar player!
